Paris is a playground for adults. It’s the city of love and everyone posts sweet photos sipping wine and eating oozy cheeses in front of the Eiffel Tower. But what about your kids? How will you keep them busy while you’re enjoying the city of romance? Have no fear! Paris is filled with great activities for children, ranging from museums to parks to fun classes.
The home of Mickey Mouse is always a great hit with the kids. You can’t lose! At Disneyland Paris there are two parks, the traditional Disneyland park and now the Walt Disney Studios park. The Walt Disney Studios park is aimed toward older children, with faster rides and exciting shows. Here you can find rides such as Ratatouille: The Adventure (perfect for a vacation in Paris!) and the Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster (my favorite!!) The Disneyland park is where you’ll find the traditional rides like Space Mountain, Pirates of the Caribbean and the new Star Wars Hyperspace Mountain. But don’t worry, every park will have tons of excitement, thrills and joy for children and adults of all ages!

Jardin du Luxembourg
When I think of Paris I often think back to the Disney cartoon “The Hunchback of Notre Dame.” This movie recently showed up on Netflix and I was so excited to watch it with Goldilocks. It’s definitely a must-see if you plan to travel to Paris with your children. In the movie, Clopin Trouillefou puts on a short puppet show for a little girl. This scene has always made me think of puppets when I think of traveling to Paris with kids!
If you’d like to enjoy a puppet show with your kids head to Jardin du Luxembourg. There you can enjoy a puppet show as well as the beautiful grounds, fun playgrounds, sailboats and pony rides. The puppet shows are put on every Wednesday, Saturday and Sunday at 2pm. A trip to the Jardin du Luxembourg would be a great opportunity to have a relaxing, easy going day in between the chaos of city site-seeing.
Paris is renowned for its food culture. Baguettes, cheese, desserts, croissants! It’s making my mouth water just thinking about it! Wouldn’t it be great if your child came home with the skills to make some of these delectable Parisian dishes? Well, they can! There are many cooking schools with classes for children but Cook’n with Class is one of the few that is offered in English and offers regular children’s classes.
For 95 euro you can sign your children ages 6-12 up for a cooking class that teaches four French dishes, from savory to sweet. You can also book a course for yourself while your little one cooks away!
There are plenty of museums to visit in Paris and many that offer exciting things for children to learn. One of these museums worth visiting with kids is the Magic Museum or “Musée des Automates et de la Magie.” The Magic Museum features the history and gadgets of magic’s golden age. You can watch magic shows with your kids and learn the tricks of the trade by a former magician. Be aware, though, that the performance and discussion are in French.
How to Get There
There are many options for getting to and from the airport, these attractions and your hotel. If you’re like me, traveling with multiple children by bus and train can be an unwanted hassle. I often choose a taxi, especially from the airport since I usually have the car seats with me. There are two great taxi companies that will get you where you need to go.
Top Paris Transfer will pick you up from Charles de Gaulle, Orly or Beauvais airports and get you into the city.
Piyo Cab company will take you straight to Disneyland Paris from the airport. It’s so great to know that your driver knows exactly how to get where you’re going, especially after a long day of travel.
