I had so much fun attending the media happy hour for OneLoudoun, Loudoun’s new downtown, held on April 27 at the new Matchbox location at OneLoudoun. It was a great event! Head over to Our-Kids to read my write up from the event!
As you’ve told your friends and family that you will be moving abroad, they are probably beyond thrilled for you and express their jealousy over your exciting, adventurous life. But you and I both know that this life in the military, foreign service, mission work or whatever brings you into expat life is not all sunshine and rainbows. While I am so excited for our new adventure in Europe I also have so many expat life fears.
I feel so privileged to have my birth story featured today on This West Coast Mommy! My pregnancy and birth experience with Goldilocks was a unique one, but I’m sure many expat moms here have experienced something similar. Papa Bear was overseas for nearly my entire pregnancy and for 5 months of Goldilocks’ life. I also had to deal with some restrictions due to my Crohn’s Disease. It was an interesting experience to say the least!
Hi! Welcome to my blog “Growing Up Expat!” My family and I will be moving to Berlin (Germany, not Maryland, New Jersey or Pennsylvania. I found there are many cities of Berlin in the States!) in August of this year. We are so excited to embark on this adventure of expat parenthood but I also have many fears and anxieties about moving to a new country. Becoming a mom has been enough of a life change without throwing in immersing ourselves into a new culture and learning a new language.
